A funeral home in Nebraska recently became the center of a bizarre and unsettling event.
According the the Guardian, a 74-year-old woman, previously declared dead at a nursing home, was discovered breathing during preparations for her funeral, triggering a police investigation.
An employee at the funeral home noticed that the woman, who had been transported there as a deceased individual, was in fact still alive.
This startling discovery has raised questions about the circumstances leading up to her transport.
Ben Houchin, Lincoln Local Police Area Commander, shared his disbelief during an interview with local TV channel KETV:
"I've been doing this job for 31 years and I've never, ever seen anything like this."
The police are currently investigating the incident but have stated that there are no suspicions of foul play involved.
Emergency services were promptly called to the funeral home, and the woman was rushed to the hospital for immediate medical attention. Despite the efforts to save her, she sadly passed away a few hours later the same day.
