A Dubai coffee shop has set a new world record by serving the most expensive cup of coffee ever.
The Price
According to the company and Guinness World Record, a single cup of coffee is sold for a staggering 2,500 AED, or approximately $680 USD.
Record-Breaking Brew
The feat was achieved by Roasters, a luxury coffee chain with four locations in Dubai and eleven across the UAE.
On September 13, at the flagship Boulevard Downtown Dubai location, the baristas hand-poured a cup of coffee using the V60 brewing method.
The coffee was served in a Edo Kiriko crystal glass from Japan, renowned for its intricate patterns.
Rare and Precious Beans
The coffee was made from extremely rare Panamanian Geisha beans sourced from Hacienda La Esmeralda, one of the world’s most celebrated coffee farms.
Roasters had purchased the entire 20-kilogram lot of washed Geisha beans for $604,000 at the ‘Best of Panama 2025’ auction last month, making the beans a key draw for coffee connoisseurs.
Luxury Experience
The record-setting cup was served alongside a piece of tiramisu and a chocolate ice cream infused with Geisha beans, creating a complete luxury coffee experience.
A dedicated barista prepared the coffee tableside using a temperature-controlled kettle and V60 dripper, while the guest could read about the beans and the brewing process on informational cards provided for the event.
Marketing and Recognition
The lucky client who purchased the coffee has not been publicly named, but the event was widely promoted by Roasters as part of its marketing strategy.
