While Donald Trump maintains his interest in the world’s largest island, Moscow is warning that such a shift in ownership would destroy the global balance.
According to Russian sources, this is not merely about territory, but about a strategic realignment that could have far-reaching consequences for relations between the world’s nuclear powers.

Not for sale
President Trump has stated that he intends to carry out his plans regardless of whether local residents support them or not, saying that he will do it “whether they like it or not”.

Moscow predicts European capitulation
The nationalist politician Aleksey Zhuravlev has now added his voice to the debate with a series of striking predictions. He believes that unilateral US action in Greenland would leave Europe in a vulnerable position, forcing it to turn eastward.
“Europe would come crawling to us, bow at our feet and beg for protection,” Zhuravlev said.
He does not hide his contempt for the American president’s self-confidence and added:
“Trump is absolutely convinced that he is the king of the universe and that everything is permitted.”

Previously, Russia has warned that such a development could lead to “America gaining nuclear superiority over Russia and China,” which it has described as “the beginning of the end of the world.”
