A security guard working for McDonald's in the United Kingdom has been caught on video washing a sidewalk and soaking the belongings of a homeless man. The incident has sparked outrage.

The video, which was filmed on Saturday, December 9, shows the security guard throwing water at the area where the homeless man was sitting. The guard was also criticized for kicking the man's belongings with his foot.

On social media, the security guard was the target of widespread criticism, with many calling him "disgusting." The author of the video asked McDonald's if it was "acceptable for someone to soak the sleeping bags of a homeless man in the middle of winter or at any other time of the year."

Guard fired by his company

In response to the backlash, the fast-food chain said it was "shocked and saddened" by the incident, stating that the guard involved, who was from a third-party agency, had been fired.

"The restaurant team has been reminded of the importance of treating all people with respect, including vulnerable people, both in the restaurant and within the wider community," a spokesperson for the company said.

"We would like to offer our sincere apologies to the man who appears in the video and we will be working with the local council to locate him and make amends as part of our ongoing work supporting homelessness charities in the area," the spokesperson added.
