Donald Trump’s personal habits have always attracted curiosity, but now it’s his bedtime behavior that’s drawing fresh attention.

Thanks to First Lady Melania Trump’s 2024 memoir, Melania: A Memoir, and candid remarks from CNN‘s Kaitlan Collins, the public is getting a clearer — and stranger — picture of what sleep looks like in the Trump orbit.

While promoting her memoir on Fox News’ The Five, Melania offered subtle but telling details about her husband’s nightly routine.

“He doesn’t sleep much,” she confirmed, though she quickly added, “He does, of course.”

Then came the awkward moment that got the internet buzzing.

When panelist Greg Gutfeld asked whether the former president wears pajamas to bed, Melania answered flatly, “No.” Pressed further, she zipped her lips and refused to elaborate.

According to Newsner, Trump has long claimed to operate on just four to five hours of sleep, especially during his White House years.

But according to Collins, this pattern continues today and still affects those around him.

Staff sleep? Not if Trump’s awake

Speaking on the Trading Secrets podcast, Collins said sources who frequently traveled with Trump described a demanding — and sleep-deprived — environment aboard Air Force One.

“He doesn’t sleep on these trips,” Collins shared. “You’re going to Asia or something, and that’s kind of the only time you’re going to sleep before you go on this trip, but Trump is just always up and talking.”

She added that Trump would wake staff members mid-flight simply because he wanted to talk.

“He’ll have them go wake staff up if they’re asleep,” Collins said. “It was like, if he’s awake, everyone’s awake.”

That relentless energy may have served Trump on the campaign trail and in the White House, but for aides and staffers, it has reportedly turned routine travel into an exhausting ordeal.
