Venezuela’s government has issued a public warning telling its citizens not to travel to the United States, calling the country dangerous and hostile toward immigrants.

In an official video message shared on Telegram, Caracas urged both travelers and Venezuelans already living in the US to return home for their safety.

In the strongly worded message, the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry declared:

It framed the warning as a moral duty, stating: “Our duty is to denounce this reality and demand respect for our compatriots.”

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil went even further, saying, “The police shoot first and ask questions later.”

US Deportation to El Salvador Cited as ‘Torture’

The Venezuelan government used a recent deportation case to back its claims.

It referenced hundreds of migrants sent to a maximum-security prison in El Salvador earlier this year, alleging they are held in “inhumane conditions” and subjected to “psychological torture.”

The Venezuelan travel alert comes days after the US government issued its own.
