The Shah Alam Stadium in Malaysia’s city of the same name was demolished to make way for a new facility. Local media shared video footage of the demolition, which quickly spread on social media.

The 30-year-old stadium, once one of the world’s largest with a capacity of 80,000 spectators, was declared structurally unsound in 2020.

Construction of the original Shah Alam Stadium began on January 1, 1990, and it was officially opened on July 16, 1994. It served as the home stadium for the national team throughout its lifetime.
