Donald Trump has never been shy about his opinions, especially when it comes to his critics.

And now he’s reignited an old feud with none other than global music icon Taylor Swift.

In a post shared on his platform Truth Social, the 78-year-old president wrote:

Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?’

The comment instantly sparked a wave of reactions online — and now the White House is responding.

“What Does He Mean?”

During a recent press briefing, Fox News reporter Peter Doocy pressed the White House for clarification, asking:

“What does President Trump mean when he says that Taylor Swift is no longer hot?”

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt responded with a careful tone, saying:

Look, he is speaking about Taylor Swift’s political views and how perhaps it has impacted the support of the American public for her work. I will leave it at that.

The White House stopped short of directly condemning Trump’s personal remark.

A Long-Running Clash

According to Newsner, Trump’s latest comment is part of a long-standing tension between him and Swift.

The pop star publicly endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris during the 2024 election campaign and previously criticized the use of AI-generated images of herself in fake campaign content supporting Trump.

This is not the first time Trump has attacked her.

He originally said he “hated” Swift in 2024 after she called out disinformation linked to his campaign.

But Swift’s political awakening goes back even further.

In 2018, she broke her silence on politics by speaking out against Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn, a known Trump ally.

In a social media post, Swift said:

I cannot vote for someone who will not be willing to fight for dignity for ALL Americans.

She also emphasized the importance of LGBTQ+ rights, gender equality, and fighting systemic racism — values she said were not represented by Blackburn’s voting record.

Since then, Swift has encouraged her fans to educate themselves and vote based on values, becoming one of the most influential cultural voices in politics.

While Trump’s comment is making headlines, Taylor Swift has yet to respond publicly.

Given her past tendency to speak through her actions — whether through her record-breaking Eras Tour, her political endorsements, or her support for voter registration — some fans believe she may choose not to engage at all.
