On Monday, he officially confirmed his alternative plans on Truth Social. He announced that the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument will host “the most spectacular TRUMP RALLY” on July 4, calling it a “TRIBUTE TO AMERICA”.
The sudden announcement immediately triggered sharp criticism from political opponents. Critics argue that the president is using a unifying national holiday for personal branding.
Republicans against Trump posted a screenshot of Trump’s post and simply stated: “There’s no bottom.”
