The aide’s brother gives more insight to Trump’s assistant. He also blasts her ‘very unhealthy’ with the President of the United States.
The relationship between Donald Trump and his personal assistant has dominated the front pages of every major news network over the last couple of days.
Trump and his aide have been largely silent on this topic, instead having the rest of the White House come to their defense.
But now the brother of Trump’s close personal assistant is speaking out against his own sister.
A deeply worried brother
Preston Harp lives far away from Washington. He resides in Nicaragua. He is estranged from his sister Natalie, who is Donald Trump’s personal aide and is on everyone’s lips right now for their peculiar relationship.
And he only learned his sister was serving as Donald Trump’s assistant by reading a news article back in 2023.
The discovery left him stunned. In an interview with The Daily Mail, Preston described his sister’s close bond with the president as “very unhealthy” and openly questioned her motives.
“I don’t understand why my sister, or anyone, could want to work for Trump,” he told the outlet. He went on to label the commander-in-chief a “national embarrassment.”
A broken home
The pair grew up together in a household raised by an “extremely conservative” mother while being homeschooled. Over time, Preston distanced himself from his mother and sister.
Trying to make sense of her loyalty to Trump, Preston offered his own theory during an interview with The Daily Beast. He pointed to the deep psychological appeal behind her career choice.
“I think that she does see Trump as a kind of father figure because he embodies the doctrine of American exceptionalism,” he said. The ideology that the United States is special and unique compared to other nations is something their mother would instill in them from a young age.
He also said in an interview that their strict conservative mother raised them with the notion that “the United States was the boss of the world.”
Complete devotion to Trump
Natalie Harp credited Trump with surviving stage II bone cancer and claims he saved her life. “I wouldn’t be alive today if it wasn’t for you,” she told him at the 2020 Republican National Convention after Trump personally invited her to speak.
One of Harp’s primary roles in the White House is making sure he posts on Truth Social. She also brings portable printers along on trips to show him positive news clips.
Preston blames Natalie’s obsession with Trump on their mother and her cancer diagnosis. “Trump is everything our mother taught us to respect […] She’s his biggest fan. She thinks that [Trump] saved her life,” Preston said to CNN’s Erin Burnett.

Harp was a mouthpiece before working for Trump
Harp had been infatuated with Trump long before she began working for him. In 2021, she worked as a broadcaster at One America News (OAN), a far-right news and political commentary television channel.
The channel echoes many of Trump’s messages as well as his unfounded falsehoods and conspiracy theories.
Natalie Harp would host various television shows on OAN promoting false claims of fraud in the 2020 presidential election and often using the phrase “and remember what President Trump says,” to give further credence to her argument.
