Natalie Harp has earned a reputation as one of Donald Trump’s most dedicated personal aides.
Known informally as his “Human Printer”, she remains constantly at his side to supply paper printouts for his daily review.
But her brother lives a very different life far away from America.
A stark contrast between siblings
According to journalists Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan, her devotion runs deep. Trump himself has remarked that she cares for him as much as his own family does. That closeness was on display during a high-stakes security incident in Ankara, where she joined him on a secret plane switch.
Yet thousands of miles away, her older brother Preston Harp leads a radically different life. He lives in Masatepe, Nicaragua, where he openly celebrates the Sandinista government and describes himself as an anti-imperialist.
Nicaragua is ruled by the Sandinista party, which is led by a married couple who are co-presidents. This regime is widely seen as a dictatorship.
Preston insists he has found peace under the administration of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo. He currently works as an editor for anti-war activist S. Brian Willson, who lost his legs protesting American arms shipments to Nicaragua under the Ronald Reagan administration in 1987.
Shadows of the past
The stark contrast between the siblings grew from a shared conservative upbringing in California. Educated at home by deeply religious parents, Natalie remained dutiful while Preston rebelled through rock music, skateboarding, and non-conformist books.
Natalie entered Trump’s political circle in 2019 after surviving bone cancer, attributing her recovery to his Right to Try legislation. But a family tragedy soon pushed the brother and sister further apart.
When their father died by suicide in July 2020, their continuing differences in ideology broke their remaining family ties completely.
Preston told the Daily Mail that he has no desire to return home to the States, saying, “I can’t connect with that vibe, so I’m just going to leave it at that.”
