The First Lady explained that her daily routines frequently clash with those of US President Donald Trump. At the same time, their youngest son is navigating a busy new chapter as a university student.
During an appearance on The Big Money Show cited by Daily Express, the 56-year-old discussed her private world. Co-host Taylor Riggs asked for her thoughts on how working mothers can protect their family dinners.
Planning ahead
The First Lady offered a straightforward solution for overwhelmed parents everywhere. According to her, the secret lies in booking those important family moments well in advance.
“It’s good to schedule, it’s always good because everybody’s so busy,” she told the network.
She painted a very realistic picture of evenings at the White House. The president often works late into the night, which makes traditional family meals incredibly difficult to arrange.
“My husband is working, sometimes he’s in the Oval Office until 9.30 at night, so do you wait [until then to] have dinner? You don’t. He’s busy, I’m busy too,” she said.
Finding balance
This changing dynamic has clearly shifted how the family operates behind closed doors. While the First Lady admitted that shared moments are becoming rare, she accepts the situation as a necessary part of their duty.
“But we try to find time. It’s less and less the family time, it’s suffering because of it. But that’s okay. We are here to work, to do a good job, and that’s what matters,” she explained.
Barron is currently studying at New York University, and his newfound independence seems to fit perfectly with his mother’s packed itinerary. “Barron is already a young man, so sometimes he’s maybe even happy that I just want to do my stuff. And that’s okay,” she added.
Even with a busy term ahead, mother and son still carve out quiet moments together. Recent reports noted he spent much of his summer with her at the Trump National Golf Club Bedminster.
