A fragile ego
Dr. Bandy Lee recently compared US President Donald Trump to a young child according to Daily Express.
She argues that the 80-year-old leader is showing signs of deep psychological fragility.
The warning follows a strange incident where the president falsely claimed rescue workers carried him away from Ground Zero after the 9/11 attacks. He later retracted the story but insisted his words were “exactly accurate”.
Speaking to MeidasTouch, Dr. Lee explained this behavior reveals a deeper issue.
“The degree to which he needs to do that for every significant event in national history… all of this goes back to just how fragile he is in his sense of self,” she said.
Craving total control
According to the former Yale instructor, this mirrors early childhood development.
“This is normally what toddlers do. They have to be king or queen or ruler of the universe in order to fight the feeling that they are quite helpless and dependent on others’ care,” Dr. Lee told the outlet.
She added that while expected in children, “It is abnormal and pathological when it involves a fully grown adult.”
Her concerns extend beyond tall tales. Pointing to his online posts about nuclear weapons as a major red flag, she warned that “[He is] an incredibly mentally unstable individual who’s become far more unstable with time, with more power he’s given and the less he is constrained.”
Fierce political pushback
The debate over the president’s wellbeing is growing. A recent YouGov poll found that 48 percent of Americans think he has experienced some physical or mental decline.
His team aggressively rejects these theories. Officials explain recent hand bruising as a result of constant handshaking, while attributing his swollen ankles to a common vein issue.
White House spokesman Davis Ingle dismissed the psychiatrist as politically motivated. “If it quacks like a duck, it may actually just be a Democrat hack doctor,” Ingle said.
He called the president “the sharpest, most accessible, and energetic president in American history”. The president himself recently declared that his medical exams “checked out PERFECTLY”.
