White House assures Americans ‘it always works out’ — Trump’s record shows otherwise

The president’s go-to slogan for calming public anxiety rarely matches the reality around the world.

Yesterday, the official White House social media accounts posted a picture of Trump and a quote from him in response to a question.

The caption reads “Trust the process” and is a reminder to the American people that, with Trump at the helm, everything is going to be fine and work out.

However, history is not kind to Trump’s statement.

‘Low-key’ on Iran

The quote Trump used was, “Bottom line, it’s gonna all work out. You know why? It always does.”

He said this when a reporter on the White House lawn asked why Russia was not adhering to his announced ceasefire deal between Ukraine and Russia.

Trump likes to utter the phrase “it will work out.” It rarely works out the intended way. He also said this verbatim when asked about how much longer the war with Iran would last, six months after he said it would only be two or three weeks.

“We are only semi-negotiating with them,” Trump told Axios back in August, while claiming he was “low-keying” them. “It will work out. It always works out. It’s like a chess game,” Trump assured.

Trying to reassure the American people

This is also not the first time that the White House communications team has used this quote to boost Trump’s social media presence.

Back in June, the account posted a picture of the president in the Oval Office with his quote, “Just sit back and relax, it will all work out well in the end—it always does!”

Going back to Trump’s first term, there are also instances in which Trump has made his foreign policy communications strategy out of this quote.

Back in 2017, when Trump was locked in a nuclear crisis with Kim Jong Un and North Korea, he said that it would “ultimately work out.”

“Because it always works out, has to work out,” Trump said, according to ABC News, after months of harsh warnings from him and threats against North Korea. Not only does North Korea still have nuclear weapons, but, according to a report from Congress, the country has advanced its program in recent years.
