After Barack Obama mocked his gold decor and compared it to a Cheesecake Factory, Donald Trump hit back by claiming it is all Obama’s fault.

President Donald Trump has responded to Barack Obama’s barb this weekend about how Trump had chosen to decorate the White House.

Suffice it to say, the president is not happy with those comments.

Yesterday, Trump went after the former president for his comments and claimed it is Obama’s fault he had to decorate the White House in so much gold.

Gold over everything

After Barack Obama took the stage at an Ohio campaign event on Saturday, he made fun of Donald Trump’s architectural projects in and around the White House. He told the crowd his successor belonged on cable television.

Obama zeroed in on the decor. He pointed to the paved grounds, the massive ballroom, and all the gold Trump has installed. “What’s up with the gold?” Obama asked, while adding, “I mean, he’s got the White House looking like Saddam Hussein opened a Cheesecake Factory.”

Obama also claimed that the administration set up deals to enrich family members and cronies through crypto schemes and state contracts. “This is a culture that’s set at the top,” Obama said.

Brick by brick

Trump was quick to respond to Obama. Speaking at Joint Base Andrews and during a Mississippi rally on Monday, he claimed that his predecessor let the executive mansion fall apart. According to Trump, the White House had cracked windows and dirty columns when he first took office back in 2016.

“This place is in bad shape, it really is. I made up for lost time because I did a job and it’s in better shape than it was built and more beautiful,” Trump said, according to the Daily Mail. Behind the scenes, he claimed, the need for repairs was spotted simply during daily strolls from the Oval Office. He called it routine upkeep.

And Trump did not stop with maintenance reports. He blasted the former president for insulting a famous casual dining chain, arguing that the comparison proved his rival failed to respect successful private businesses.
