‘I’ll move to Israel’: Trump floats leaving US in bizarre Fox News rant

In a wild Election Day interview, Trump claimed he could become prime minister in Israel and abruptly announced plans to slash billions in US aid.

The president is preparing to weigh his options if the GOP loses control of Congress. One of them is apparently moving to Israel and running the country.

Usually during Election Day, the president of the United States of America uses his platform for one last push to encourage people to vote.

Donald Trump is not your average president. It seems that the president is focused on many issues other than the midterms.

As the polls opened on the East Coast this morning, Trump called into his favorite television station, Fox News. Here, he casually shared some breaking news about an ally in the Middle East.

‘I’ll move to Israel and become prime minister’

The breaking news about Trump and Israel all started after Trump took over Fox News during a phone interview and started to rant and rave for four minutes uninterrupted.

He then contemplated making a drastic change if the polls turn out to be true and the American voters reject the GOP.

“I have a 99% approval rating in Israel! Can you believe it? In fact, if people ever got tired of me in the US, I’ll move to Israel and become prime minister,” Trump said while the Fox News hosts kept shuffling their papers and laughing uncomfortably.

Trump is also ending aid to Israel

Then Trump even more casually dropped a bombshell about ending aid to Israel when the calendar turns to 2027.

Trump stated that the US gives $4 billion annually to Israel in aid, but that will get cut off by the end of the year. When the host asked him why, Trump answered that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asked for it personally:

“Because they don’t need it, Brian. I asked them. Bibi Netanyahu brought it up. He said, ‘I think it would be appropriate if we do not receive aid.'”

Was this a last-ditch effort by Trump to try to salvage the midterm elections or just musings by the president who perhaps shared too much information?

The Israeli government stated afterwards that they were surprised by Trump’s announcement. “The ministry was aware of the intention to end it, but was surprised by the intention to do so immediately,” an official in the Israeli government told The Times of Israel.
