He even suggested that bipartisan cooperation could be on the horizon for the remainder of his term.

Election nights always bring a mix of high drama and late-night surprises.

Millions of voters wait by their screens to see how the political map will shift, and the reactions from Washington rarely follow a quiet script.

When the dust finally settles, the mood at the top can change in an instant.

Ready to make deals

President Donald Trump says he is ready to accept the outcome of the US midterm elections. As Republican contenders lost ground across the country, the president struck a surprisingly cooperative tone about the opposition.

In a phone interview with The New York Times, Trump made his position clear. “I am absolutely willing to accept those results,” he told the newspaper while watching the returns come in.

He even suggested that bipartisan cooperation could be on the horizon for the remainder of his term. “We’ll work with the Democrats, and we’ll, you know, look forward to working with them. We’ll probably work something out,” Trump added during his conversation with The New York Times.

Still, the president could not resist pointing out that his own name was missing from the voting slips. According to Forbes and the Daily Express, he claimed earlier that his party “would have won IN A LANDSLIDE” if he had been on the ticket himself.

Fury on the airwaves

Behind the talk of compromise, the mood turned much sharper. As the scale of the Republican setbacks became clear, the president took his grievances directly to the public on television and online.

Posting on his Truth Social platform, the president promised to dissect every single race himself, as reported by the Daily Express. “I’m going to become a Political Pundit, both good and bad, on the reasons these Candidates won and lost! President DONALD J. TRUMP” he wrote.

Minutes later, a live appearance on Fox News brought even more fireworks. According to the Daily Express, Trump repeated on air that he “will accept” the final tallies across all races, yet he quickly turned his anger toward struggling Republican hopefuls.

He blasted certain candidates for “not being around” back when “Trump wasn’t fashionable”, accusing them of “kissing my a” only after he returned to power.

Even the host network did not escape his frustration during the broadcast. Live on Fox News, the president scolded the channel and declared that they “need a new pollster” because the broadcaster had “got me wrong” on several occasions.
