Ukraine has been targeted by Russian attacks for three nights in a row.
What is happening?

Three nights, three large-scale areal attacks.
That is what Ukraine had to endure during the weekend, as Russia ramped up it’s attacks.
Record-breaking drone-attack

During the night between Sunday and Monday, Russia launched the largest drone-attack of the entire war sending 355 Shahed drones and decoys, according to Ukraine’s Air Force.

The previous record was 298 drones, during the night between Saturday and Sunday.
That’s not all

During the attack during the night to Monday, Russia also launched nine cruise missiles.
Most threats neutralized

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, 233 drones where shot down, and 55 drones were neutralized by electronic warfare systems or disappearing from radar systems.
All of the nine cruiser missiles were shot down as well.
At least six dead

The attacks targeted a number of Ukrainian regions, and at least six people are confirmed dead.
24 has been confirmed injured, but both numbers could increase.
Paradox seen before

It might seem like a paradox that Russia is launching it’s biggest drone-attack of the war shortly after the first meeting between Russia and Ukraine in years.
But according to experts, this is a well-known tactic in military conflicts.
Getting the upper hand in negotiations

By launching huge attacks like these, the Kremlin is trying to gain as much leverage as possible before actually comitting to peacetalks.
