The dust has yet to settle in the very public clash between Donald Trump and Elon Musk. But just a day after explosive accusations and billion-dollar consequences, the president has brushed off the dispute as if it were no more than a passing misunderstanding.
“Ah, it’s OK. Everything’s just fine, never been better,” Trump said when asked by Politico about the fallout with the tech mogul. His tone: casual. His message: nothing to see here.
Behind the scenes, tensions still boil
The president’s statement came after Musk launched a scathing attack on Trump’s administration and budget policies—culminating in allegations tied to the Epstein scandal and threats to remove Musk’s companies from federal contracts.
Despite Trump’s dismissive tone, the situation appears far from resolved. According to Politico, a phone call between Trump and Musk was scheduled by White House advisors for Friday. However, a Reuters source contradicted this, stating no such call was planned.

Trump, during his brief phone call with Politico, quickly pivoted from questions about Musk to touting his approval ratings.

Just a day earlier, Musk accused Trump of appearing in Epstein-related documents and said he should face criminal charges. Trump responded by threatening to cut all government contracts with Musk’s companies, including Tesla, SpaceX, and Neuralink.
