A second night of Russian attacks struck Ukraine on July 9–10, killing two people and injuring 13, according to The Kyiv Independent.
The attacks reached Kyiv and other cities far from the front line.
At approximately 1:15 a.m. local time, journalists from Kyiv Independent reported explosions in the capital and the sound of Shahed drones. A large number of drones were observed over the Pechersk district, a historic part of central Kyiv.
Later, the journalists reported hearing dozens of explosions and the distinct noise of ballistic missiles. Explosions reportedly continued for at least an hour, with shock waves triggering car alarms throughout Kyiv.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated that apartment buildings in the Shevchenkivskyi and Darnytskyi districts were on fire. Gas stations and garages were also affected, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.
Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, confirmed two deaths:
“Unfortunately, we have two deaths. These people were killed by the Russians. It is a terrible loss. Condolences to the family and friends.”
Local authorities reported 13 people injured, with nine hospitalized. Some of the victims had shrapnel wounds.
Attacks Across Multiple Regions
The Ukrainian Air Force issued alerts throughout the night, warning of drone activity across multiple regions, including Ternopil and Rivne in western Ukraine.
The night before, Russia carried out its largest missile and drone attack since the start of the full-scale invasion, including a major strike on the western city of Lutsk.
