SBU Targets Key War Facility in Penza

Ukrainian long-range drones operated by the SBU struck a critical Russian military electronics plant in Penza on July 31.

The factory, known as Radiozavod, is part of the Russian state defense conglomerate Rostec and plays a key role in supplying tech for Putin’s war machine.

It produces automated control systems for air defense, artillery coordination, and mobile command posts, all of which rely heavily on advanced communications.

Under Sanctions, Now Under Fire

Already blacklisted by international sanctions, the factory was a prime target for Ukraine.

SBU sources say the strike is part of a wider effort to cripple Russia’s defense production during peak summer testing season for high-tech weaponry.

Multiple Explosions and a Massive Blaze

Local reports confirm at least 11 explosions followed by a huge fire at the factory.

Ukrainian intelligence sources say a new production wing and vital warehouses storing key components were hit in the attack.

Strike Confirmed by Kyiv

Andrii Kovalenko, head of Ukraine’s Center for Combating Disinformation, confirmed the strike.

He noted the factory’s crucial role in producing command vehicles, radios for all major forces, and automated combat control systems.

Moscow’s Command Network Disrupted

The destruction of the Penza facility may significantly hinder Russia’s ability to coordinate its forces.

Kovalenko stated that the blow to this factory could severely affect Moscow’s military command and communications infrastructure.

Videos Show Flames and Chaos

Russian Telegram channels posted dramatic footage of thick smoke rising from the facility.

One video appears to capture the moment of the explosion, with the narrator exclaiming: “The factory is being bombed!”

Russia Denies Damage, Imposes Internet Blackout

Despite visible destruction, Russian officials claim there were no casualties or material damage.

Authorities temporarily restricted mobile internet access, saying it was to help support anti-drone measures in the area.
