A Recall Surge Unlike Any Other

By August 2025, Ford had initiated 104 separate recalls. For comparison, Stellantis recorded just 21 in the same period, while Volkswagen, GM, Mercedes, Honda, and Hyundai together issued 77—still fewer than Ford alone.
Problems Span Flagship Models

Ford’s top-selling F-150 pickup, the iconic Mustang, and Lincoln’s premium SUVs have all been hit by recall campaigns, covering issues from faulty electronics to malfunctioning safety systems.
Ford F-150 Among the Hardest Hit

Three recalls targeted over 22,000 Ford F-150 trucks from 2022. A defect could cause the parking lights to flash unexpectedly when headlights are turned on, raising both safety and compliance concerns.
Mustang Faces Instrument Panel Glitch

The 2024 Ford Mustang is also affected. Some cars suffer from instrument clusters shutting down mid-drive, linked to a previous faulty repair. Ford says a software update will resolve the issue.
Lincoln’s Safety Failures Raise Concerns

Lincoln models were not spared. The Nautilus from 2024–2025 was recalled after its automatic window safety feature failed, risking injury if fingers or objects were caught in the glass.
Back-Up Camera Defects Affect 41,000 Cars

One of the largest recalls involves nearly 42,000 Lincoln Corsairs from 2020–2022. Water intrusion can damage rear camera connectors, leaving drivers without a reliable rearview image—an obvious safety hazard.
Dealers Turn to Software Fixes

In many cases, Ford is relying on software updates to address the faults. Dealers are updating door modules, camera systems, and dashboard programs rather than replacing physical components.
A Pattern of Persistent Recalls

Ford’s recall problems are not new. In 2024, the brand faced widespread issues—including cases where thousands of cars were recalled without certainty they could even be fixed—fueling concerns over quality control.
