Ukraine is offering assistance to it’s alliance on how to counter the Russian drone incursions.

What is happening?

President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned that Russian President Vladimir Putin is preparing to escalate the conflict beyond Ukraine’s borders.

Speaking in Kyiv after a meeting with Donald Trump in New York, Zelensky said, “Putin will not wait to finish his war in Ukraine. He will open another direction. Nobody knows where. He wants this.”

Drone incursions across Europe

Zelensky accused Moscow of orchestrating a wave of drone activity meant to test Europe’s air defenses.

Drones were recently spotted over military bases in Denmark and Norway, and Russian fighter jets have breached Estonian airspace.

These incidents, he suggested, are not isolated—they’re coordinated moves to probe NATO’s readiness.

“Choreographed” drone swarm detected near Poland

On the night of September 10, Ukraine tracked an unusually synchronized drone swarm heading toward Poland.

Ninety-two drones were detected, many flying in precise formation. Most were intercepted, but 19 entered Polish territory. Four were shot down.

Zelensky sees this as part of Russia’s evolving strategy to destabilize Europe.

Drone incursions blur the line between surveillance, provocation, and attack.

“They are testing not just our skies,” he hinted, “but our political resolve.”

Ukraine offers air defense training to allies

To help allies respond more effectively, Ukraine is opening its doors to military representatives from other countries.

Without naming them, Zelensky said officials will visit Ukraine for “practical training” in countering Russian air strikes.

“We are ready to share our experience,” he said, emphasizing the importance of collaboration.

While praising neighboring nations for their vigilance, Zelensky highlighted Ukraine’s unique position.

“I’m not comparing our forces. We are at war, and they [Poland] are not,” he said.

The message was clear: Ukraine has had to innovate quickly under fire—and others would do well to learn from it.

A warm meeting with Trump

Zelensky described his recent meeting with Donald Trump at the UN General Assembly as “very pleasant.”

The Ukrainian president believes the conversation helped Trump better understand the current battlefield realities.

“It’s not about success,” he told Trump. “It’s a temporary presence,” referring to Russian advances.

Trump confident in Ukraine’s victory

After the meeting, Trump voiced strong support for Ukraine, stating that the country could recover all territory lost since 2022—with the help of NATO and European allies.

He also cast doubt on Russia’s military capabilities, describing them as overstated and calling the Russian army a “paper tiger.”

Russia’s economy “in trouble,” says Trump

Trump also noted that Russia’s economy is under significant strain, another factor he believes weakens Moscow’s position.

According to Zelensky, Trump now sees how Russia has treated him—and other global leaders—with “disrespect.”

Cruise missile requests remain a sensitive topic

Zelensky declined to confirm reports that Ukraine had requested Tomahawk cruise missiles from the US—long-range weapons capable of hitting Moscow.

“It’s a delicate matter,” he said.

Kyiv warns of retaliation if attacked this winter

Looking ahead to winter, Zelensky issued a clear warning: if Russia resumes attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, Kyiv will retaliate in kind.

Ukraine has already used domestically produced long-range drones to target Russian oil refineries.

“If they destroy our infrastructure, their capital will also feel it,” he warned.
