A nationwide recall has been issued for packaged broccoli florets sold in several Canadian provinces after federal inspectors found possible Salmonella contamination.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) announced the warning and urged shoppers to check their fridges and freezers immediately.

No illnesses have been reported so far, but officials say the affected product should not be consumed under any circumstances.

The recall covers Your Fresh Market Broccoli Florets sold in 907-gram plastic bags. The CFIA says the recalled bags have the UPC code 6 27735 27054 8, a best-by date of November 26, 2025, and the lot code 25318.

The product was distributed to grocery and retail stores across New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island and Quebec.

Young children, older adults, pregnant people and those with weakened immune systems are at greater risk of severe symptoms.

According to health authorities, signs of salmonellosis include diarrhea, stomach cramps, fever, nausea, vomiting and loss of appetite.
