A popular supermarket chain has pulled two of its mixed-nuts products from shelves due to possible Salmonella contamination.

The recall, announced by Wegmans Food Markets, affects specific lots of its Deluxe Unsalted Mixed Nuts.

Customers are being urged to check their pantries immediately and avoid eating the affected products.

Which products are included

According to the company announcement, two sizes of Wegmans Deluxe Unsalted Mixed Nuts are subject to the recall.

Both may contain Salmonella, a bacteria that can cause serious illness in vulnerable groups.

What consumers should do

Shoppers who find these nuts at home are advised to throw them away or return them to their local Wegmans for a refund.

The company says no illnesses have been reported so far.
