For Windows 11 users who are tired of Copilot pop ups and AI prompts, uninstalling or disabling every new feature can feel like a full time job. Microsoft keeps pushing artificial intelligence deeper into the operating system, while many people just want a quiet, predictable desktop.
A new community script aims to give that control back in one hit, cutting out almost every AI component that ships with the latest Windows 11 builds.
As always, we recommend being cautious with scripts and tweaks to your systems.
Scripted AI purge
On GitHub, a developer using the name zoicware has published a tool billed as a way to “Force Remove Copilot, Recall and More in Windows 11”. The script is designed for the current 25H2 release and future versions that add more AI services.
“The current 25H2 build of Windows 11 and future builds will include increasingly more AI features and components. This script aims to remove ALL of these features to improve user experience, privacy and security,” the developer explains.

According to the release notes, the script tackles AI at several levels. It flips registry keys, disables Copilot, Recall, AI Actions and various voice and typing assistant tools, and turns off AI elements in apps such as Paint, Notepad and Microsoft Edge.
It also targets underlying components, removing AI related app packages, cleaning out files and entries from the Component Based Servicing store and hiding the AI Components settings page so they are less likely to return.
Limits and manual tweaks
To reduce the chances of AI reinstalling itself, the script can install a custom Windows Update package that blocks specific AI packages from coming back through servicing. It also applies group policies to shut down Copilot and Recall where possible and removes scheduled tasks linked to Recall.
The developer stresses that the automation cannot cover everything. As they note, “unfortunately, not all features and settings can be disabled via a script”.
For users who want to go further, zoicware has also written a manual hardening guide. It walks through extra steps that require hands on changes to Windows beyond what a script can safely perform on its own.

Pushback against Windows AI
The project reflects a wider frustration among Windows 11 users who feel the operating system is becoming an AI showcase rather than a stable work tool. The script is pitched at people who are not convinced by Microsoft’s vision of an AI infused desktop and who would rather strip those additions out entirely.
Tech site XDA Developers has highlighted the tool, bringing it to a wider audience of power users who are looking for ways to keep Windows 11 without accepting every AI feature that ships with it.
