A fierce response
Donald Trump responded on his Truth Social platform following news of the death of director Rob Reiner, a longtime critic of the president.
“It is well known that he drove people crazy with his rabid obsession with President Donald J. Trump, his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration exceeded all goals and expectations of greatness, and as America’s Golden Age descended upon us, perhaps like never before. May God rest Rob and Michele in peace!” Trump wrote.

Jimmy Kimmel takes his gloves off
The post from the president did not go unnoticed in the entertainment industry either.
Jimmy Kimmel, who was recently taken off the air for a short while after a comment about how the right was trying to use the assassination of Charlie Kirk for political gain, used the opening monologue on his talk show to launch a scathing criticism of the president.
“Nothing is ever too much for him (…) That corroded brain is in charge of our lives. If you voted for that, it’s okay to reconsider,” he said.
Reiner was celebrated for directing some of the most influential films of the 1980s and 1990s and for acting roles in later years. He and Michele Singer Reiner met during the production of When Harry Met Sally and had three children together.
