Another recall hits Ford’s E-Transit electric van.

A fresh recall has been issued for Ford’s electric commercial van.
Ford says the problem stems from a manufacturing error involving the left rear drive unit. In the affected E-Transit vans, the component may not have been installed correctly at the factory.
As a result, drivers could experience a sudden loss of propulsion while the vehicle is in motion. In another scenario, the van could roll while in Park if the parking brake has not been applied.
Both situations increase the risk of a collision, particularly in urban or loading environments where E-Transit vans are commonly used.
Vehicles affected
The recall applies to 279 Ford E-Transit electric vans produced between the 2021 and 2025 model years. All affected vehicles were identified through internal quality checks.

Ford said owners will receive notification letters instructing them to bring their vans to an authorized dealer. The inspection and any necessary repairs will be completed at no cost to customers.
Recent recall history
This is not the first time the E-Transit has been called back to dealerships.
In October 2025, Ford recalled the electric van over a potential issue with the 12-volt battery system.
Earlier, the model was also included in a wider campaign involving a software fault that could affect the rearview camera display.
