Ukraine has threatened to strike Russian oil refineries in retaliation for Moscow’s promises to freeze Ukrainian citizens this winter.
The Ukrainian military has issued a warning to Moscow regarding winter strikes on energy infrastructure. In response to threats of plunging the country into a freeze, Kyiv promised to retaliate by targeting oil refineries. This public exchange diminishes the likelihood of ceasefire agreements between the two nations.
Trading threats online
The digital confrontation began when the Russian defense ministry published a message on social media. As reported by the Kyiv Post, the post featured images of attack drones alongside a caption promising a winter freeze. This statement implied that Moscow plans to renew its bombardment of heating facilities.
Ukrainian defense forces responded with a warning aimed at the Russian oil industry. According to the Kyiv Post, the Strategic Communications Department of the Armed Forces published an image of a burning facility on Telegram. The caption declared that Ukrainian citizens would warm themselves with the fire of Russian refineries.

Rejecting ceasefire proposals
