Several food and health-related recalls remain active across the United States, and some of the affected products may still be sitting in kitchens or medicine cabinets.

Federal agencies are urging consumers to check labels carefully and take action if they have purchased any of the items.

Here is a breakdown of five recalls currently in effect and what they mean for consumers.

Cookie dough concerns

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has announced a recall of cookie dough sold in 15 states due to possible Salmonella contamination.

The affected product is Doughy Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough in 12-ounce packages, with a best-by date of July 4, 2026.

It was sold in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania and Texas.

No illnesses have been reported, but Salmonella infections can be serious, particularly for young children, older adults, pregnant people and those with weakened immune systems.

Ground beef alert

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service has recalled about 2,855 pounds of raw ground beef over potential E. coli O26 contamination.

The recall applies to 16-ounce vacuum-sealed packages labeled “FORWARD FARMS GRASS-FED GROUND BEEF,” with a “use or freeze by” date of 01/13/26 and establishment number “EST 2083.”

The beef was distributed in California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Pennsylvania and Washington.

Nasal spray recall

An over-the-counter nasal spray sold nationwide has been recalled after testing found yeast or mold contamination, according to the FDA.

The product involved is ReBoost Nasal Spray in 20-milliliter bottles, with NDC number “62795-4005-9,” lot code “224268,” and an expiration date of December 2027.

Consumers are advised to return the product or contact MediNatura New Mexico, Inc. for a refund.

Protein powder issue

The FDA has also flagged a recall of Genepro Whey 4th Generation Plasma Treated Protein due to mislabeling and an undeclared allergen.

The unflavored 225-gram product, sold in 37 states, may contain milk despite claims of being dairy-free. It carries UPC “850053365126,” lot code “250214,” and a best-by date of February 13, 2027.

People with dairy allergies are urged not to consume it.

Sausage warning

A nationwide recall has been issued for Olympia Provisions Uncured Holiday Kielbasa after a consumer reported finding metal fragments.

The ready-to-eat sausage is sold in 16-ounce vacuum-sealed packages with a best-by date of February 19, 2026, and establishment number “EST. 39928.”

While no injuries have been reported, consumers are advised to discard the product.
