Officials are signaling a potential shift in how certain classified topics are handled. The move could draw renewed public attention to long-discussed government records.

A White House event celebrating a recent lunar mission turned into a platform for discussing the possible release of classified material on unidentified aerial phenomena.

President Donald Trump said, according to The Daily Express, that his administration is preparing to make certain records public, reviving a topic that has drawn sustained attention in recent years.

His comments come as U.S. agencies, including the Pentagon, have already acknowledged investigations into unexplained aerial sightings, though no confirmed link to extraterrestrial life has been established in official findings.

A public moment

Speaking as he welcomed NASA’s Artemis II astronauts, Trump said the government plans to disclose “as much as we can” from existing files.

The newspaper reported that he described the expected information as “very interesting,” without outlining when the release might occur.

He cited accounts from pilots and other personnel, saying, “I’ve interviewed people, my first term primarily. But I interviewed some pilots, very solid people, and they said they saw things that you wouldn’t believe, so you’re going to be reading about it.”

The remarks reflect an earlier directive issued in February. At that time, Trump instructed the Pentagon and other agencies to gather and prepare documents related to UFOs and possible extraterrestrial activity.

According to the British outlet, he said the subject had generated “tremendous interest” among the public.

Political context

The issue has also surfaced in political exchanges. Former President Barack Obama recently suggested in a podcast that alien life could exist, drawing a response from Trump.

Addressing reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump said, “I don’t know if they’re real or not,” and added, “I may get him out of trouble by declassifying.”

He later stated on Truth Social that the planned disclosures would cover “alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs).”

In recent years, Pentagon assessments and NASA-related studies have examined unexplained aerial encounters.

While these reviews have documented incidents, they have not confirmed extraterrestrial origins, according to publicly released summaries.

Mission And Funding

The Artemis II mission remained central to the White House event. The crew – Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen -completed a journey around the far side of the Moon, a step toward future deep-space missions.

Trump had previously praised the astronauts on Truth Social, writing, “Congratulations to the Great and Very Talented Crew of Artemis II. The entire trip was spectacular, the landing was perfect, and, as President of the United States, I could not be more proud!”

He also said, “We’ll be doing it again and then, next step, Mars!”

The Daily Express also reported that the event took place as budget proposals under discussion could reduce NASA funding, a move that may affect the timeline of upcoming missions.
