Vanilla, a 29-year-old chimpanzee, couldn't contain her overwhelming joy when she saw the sky for the first time in 29 years. Her reaction, captured on video, is currently going viral on the internet, leaving viewers in awe.
Vanilla spent the majority of her life in a New York laboratory that was shut down in 1997. The conditions in the lab were dismal, reflecting the poor treatment of animals used for experiments. After leaving the lab, she was moved to a rescue facility in California. However, even there, she couldn't see the sky clearly due to a mesh covering overhead.
It wasn't until Vanilla arrived at the Save the Chimps sanctuary in Fort Pierce, Florida, that she could finally look up and see the blue sky.
Upon her arrival, she was warmly greeted by another chimpanzee named Dwight. She quickly joined a community of 18 other chimpanzees in the sanctuary.
Vanilla's reaction to her newfound freedom was nothing short of ecstatic. She didn't hide her feelings about her "new life," and her story has touched the hearts of many.
