Opel is doubling down on its electric ambitions with the launch of the Grandland Electric AWD — its first zero-emissions SUV with all-wheel drive.

The new model enhances the top-of-the-line Grandland range, which already includes fully electric, plug-in hybrid, and mild-hybrid variants.

CEO Florian Huettl said the Grandland Electric AWD “guarantees efficiency, safety and driving enjoyment in all conditions,” as reported by elEconomista.

Dual Motors, 325 HP and Sporty New Design

The AWD system is powered by two electric motors — 213 hp (157 kW) on the front axle and 112 hp (82 kW) on the rear — delivering a combined 325 hp (239 kW) and 509 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.1 seconds and offers four driving modes: Normal, 4WD, Sport, and Eco.

Its 73 kWh NMC lithium-ion battery supports fast charging from 20% to 80% in under 30 minutes, with a maximum WLTP range of 501 kilometers.

On the outside, the SUV maintains Opel’s current design language but adds sporty and aerodynamic elements like a 0.278 drag coefficient, two-tone 20-inch wheels, a lit Opel Blitz logo with Edge Light technology, and a rear “OPEL” signature in backlit lettering.

Suspension, Comfort and Greenovation

To improve ride quality, the Grandland Electric AWD features frequency-selective damping suspension as standard. This system adapts stiffness based on road conditions and driving style, balancing agility with comfort.

The chrome trim is gone in favor of embossed, sustainable branding — a nod to Opel’s “Greenovation” strategy aimed at combining style with environmental responsibility.
