What is happening?

The budget-airline Ryanair is introducing a new £500 ($677) fine to crack down on unruly passengers, Dublin Live reports.
Risk of being offloaded

In a press release, Ryanair explains that the new fine will be issued to passengers with such unruly behavior, that they are offloaded from the aircraft.
Could be even more costly

The airline adds that Ryanair will continue to porsue disruptive passengers for civil damages, but that the new fine will serve as a minimum.

“It is unacceptable that passengers are made suffer unnecessary disruption because of one unruly passenger’s behaviour.”
Airplane diverted by 400 miles

There have been several incidents of unruly passengers causing trouble on airplanes.
In April, a Ryanair passenger caused so much trouble, that the airplane had to be diverted by 400 miles due to “inexcusable behavior”.
Afterwards, Ryanair sued the passenger for £2.500 ($3.386).
