Launched in 2019, the McLaren Speedtail isn’t just another hypercar.
With its extreme design, hybrid powertrain, and aerodynamic innovations, it’s the spiritual successor to the iconic McLaren F1.
Designed for Minimal Air Resistance

Every line of the Speedtail is shaped for aerodynamic efficiency. Its streamlined silhouette reduces drag to the bare minimum, while cameras replace traditional side mirrors, enhancing both airflow and rear visibility.
Central Driving Position Returns

Like the legendary McLaren F1, the Speedtail features a central driver’s seat flanked by two staggered passenger seats. This configuration offers perfect balance and a unique driving experience.

Over 1,000 Horsepower from Hybrid Power

The Speedtail’s powertrain combines a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine with an electric motor, delivering a total of 1,070 horsepower. At launch, it was the most powerful McLaren ever built.
Top Speed Exceeds 400 km/h

With a top speed of 403 km/h, the Speedtail became the fastest McLaren to date. It can accelerate from 0 to 300 km/h in just 12.8 seconds—an astonishing feat for a road-legal GT.
Built as a Grand Tourer

Despite its speed, the Speedtail was designed as a hyper-GT, meant for high-speed cross-continental drives. The minimalist yet luxurious interior reflects this dual purpose of performance and comfort.
Active Aerodynamics in the Rear

Flexible carbon-fiber panels in the rear act as active aerodynamic surfaces. These subtly bend to adjust downforce at speed, eliminating the need for traditional movable wings.
Battery Tech Inspired by Formula E

The hybrid system draws on McLaren’s motorsport experience, especially from electric racing series like Formula E. This results in a compact, lightweight battery setup optimized for both power and efficiency.
Limited Production Run

Only 106 units of the Speedtail were produced, mirroring the production count of the original McLaren F1. Each unit was fully customized for its owner, making it a true collector’s item.
Streamlined Cockpit Design

The interior features touchscreens and controls integrated into the cockpit’s flowing architecture. Even the sun visors are electrochromic panels embedded in the windshield, reducing weight and complexity.
