A fight at a Halloween party in Santa Clarita ended in gunfire late Friday

One person was killed and another critically wounded after a shooting at a Halloween party in the Newhall neighborhood of Santa Clarita late Friday, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
Deputies were called about 11:15 p.m. Oct. 31 after a report of a gunshot at a home, the department said. When officers arrived they found two male victims with gunshot wounds to the upper torso.
A man in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene; a 27‑year‑old man was taken to a hospital in critical condition, authorities said. Their identities have not been released.
“Investigators learned that the shooting stemmed from a fight that took place at a Halloween party in the area,” the sheriff’s department said.
Video obtained by local news outlets showed rescue teams aiding victims and partygoers leaving the scene in distress.

Deputies said two adult male suspects were seen running from the scene in an unknown direction. No arrests had been reported as of Sunday morning.
