Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Austrian actor famed for his roles in 'Terminator' and 'Predator', made a significant announcement on Monday.

The former Californian Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, revealed in his podcast 'Arnold's Pump Club', that he has undergone a procedure to have a pacemaker installed, as reported by Us Weekly.

Schwarzenegger humorously remarked on the podcast that his new pacemaker makes him "a bit more machine" - echoing his character in 'Terminator'.

"Last Monday, I underwent surgery to become a bit more machine. I got a pacemaker," Schwarzenegger stated.

This isn't Schwarzenegger's first encounter with major heart surgeries; he has been operated on three times before for significant heart-related procedures.

He suffers from a congenital heart defect known as a bicuspid aortic valve, which prevents blood from flowing back into the heart properly.

On the podcast, Schwarzenegger also emphasized the importance of openly discussing his health challenges, a departure from his upbringing.

"Just saying this goes against my upbringing in Austria, where no one ever talked about their health problems," Schwarzenegger revealed, adding:

"Anything related to health was kept private. But I've received so many messages from people born with a bicuspid aortic valve like me, telling me that my openness about my condition has given them a lot of courage to deal with their situation."

Beyond his illustrious acting career, Arnold Schwarzenegger has also ventured into politics, serving as the Governor of California for the Republican party from 2003 to 2011, and has a background in bodybuilding.
