British actor Ian Gelder has died at the age of 74.

British actor Ian Gelder, celebrated for his portrayal of Kevan Lannister in the hit TV series "Game of Thrones," has died at the age of 74.

His passing was reported by the BBC and confirmed on Monday.

Ben Daniels, Gelder's partner and fellow actor, shared the news of his death on Instagram.

"It is with great sadness and a heart broken into a million pieces that I write this to announce the passing of my beloved husband and life partner, Ian Gelder," Daniels wrote.

Gelder was diagnosed with bile duct cancer in December and passed away on Monday at 1:07 p.m., according to Daniels' post.

Ian Gelder’s acting career spanned several decades, during which he left an indelible mark on both stage and screen.

While he achieved worldwide recognition for his role in "Game of Thrones," his contributions to the arts extended far beyond the television screen.

Notably, Gelder was also acclaimed for his work in theater, including his significant role in the 2015 play "Gods and Monsters."
