Jamie Foxx has confirmed the tragic news of the passing of his co-star from "Django Unchained," Keith Jefferson, who was 53 years old.

Jefferson had been battling cancer. Foxx took to social media to share a photo of the two together, captioning it, "Everything hurts right now."

He continued,

"Having a hard time looking through these pictures reliving the memories of us having a great time going to miss you man... God rest, NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD HAVE TO SEE THE WORDS ABOUT MY FRIEND RIP @keith.jefferson."

Fans and friends alike have flooded the comments section of Foxx's post with condolences and memories of Jefferson. Nicole Scherzinger added a string of prayer emojis, while another user commented,

"Keith had a way of lighting up a room and making everybody feel comfortable like family. Praying for his family and friends. I will miss him dearly."

Besides his role in "Django Unchained," Jefferson also appeared in "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" and "The Hateful Eight."

He had to pause his acting career due to his battle with cancer. In an emotional Instagram post, he had previously updated his fans about his condition, stating that he was finally at a place where he could share his journey because his faith was getting stronger.

Jefferson's last project alongside Foxx, "The Burial," will be released in cinemas on Friday, October 6th, before being available on Prime Video the following week.
