Eyebrows were raised when the regular morning host of the British morning show 'This Morning' was suddenly absent from the screen last Thursday.

It has now been revealed that the absence was due to a dramatic situation: a man has been arrested on suspicion of plotting to kidnap the female host.

The well-known host, Holly Willoughby, was unexpectedly missing from the popular ITV morning show 'This Morning.' In her place, Alison Hammon co-hosted the show alongside Josie Gibson.

Subsequent reports have clarified that the police had uncovered plans to kidnap Willoughby. A 36-year-old man was arrested in Essex on Wednesday evening.

British police are now guarding Willoughby's expensive London home, where she lives with her husband and children, according to The Sun and Independent.

Essex Police provided the following statement to Independent: "A 36-year-old man from Harlow has been arrested on suspicion of planning a kidnapping, which is part of an ongoing investigation."

According to Independent, 42-year-old Willoughby, a mother of three, is both shocked and upset about being the target of a kidnapping plot.

This kidnapping threat follows a tumultuous period for Willoughby, who a few months ago had to watch her former co-host Phillip Schofield become the center of a scandal.

It was revealed that Schofield had admitted to having an affair with a younger male colleague. Schofield subsequently resigned from his ITV job, admitting he had lied to his colleagues, including Willoughby, the station, and his agent about the relationship.
