Investigation launched after death of Jayne Trcka.
Jayne Trcka, best known for playing Miss Mann in Scary Movie (2000), was found dead in her kitchen at her home in San Diego, California. She was 62.
According to reports, a friend went to check on Trcka after she failed to answer phone calls and discovered her body. The San Diego Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed her death earlier this month.
A spokesperson for the office said: “There was trauma to the body, but we wouldn’t be able to indicate cause of death at this time.”
Investigation ongoing
Authorities have not released further details about how or when Trcka died. The investigation remains open as officials await additional findings.
Trcka’s son told reporters he was unaware of any medical conditions or illnesses that could explain her sudden death.
No foul play has been publicly confirmed.
Film and television work
Trcka became widely known after appearing in the 2000 hit Scary Movie, where she played the teacher Miss Mann. It was her first acting role and later became her most recognisable performance.
She went on to appear in other television projects, including The Drew Carey Show and Whose Line Is It Anyway? She later reprised her Scary Movie role in subsequent films, becoming a memorable supporting character in the franchise.
A sixth Scary Movie film is scheduled for release later this year.
Bodybuilding career
Before acting, Trcka was well known in the bodybuilding world.
During the 1980s, she competed professionally and appeared in fitness publications such as Flex, MuscleMag International and Women’s Physique World.
In more recent years, she worked in real estate with a San Diego-based agency.
