What Is Listeria and Why It’s Dangerous

Listeria monocytogenes is a harmful bacteria that can cause a serious infection called listeriosis.

While healthy people may experience short-term symptoms like fever, nausea, and diarrhea, the infection can be life-threatening for:

  • Pregnant people
  • Newborns
  • Older adults
  • Immunocompromised individuals

As of July 31, no illnesses have been reported in connection to the recalled fruit packs. However, authorities urge caution.
