What has happened?

Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) says they have conducted a new unique special operation and struck the Crimean Bridge – for det third time.
Underwater explosives

In a press release, the SBU says that the underwater supports for the bridge has been severely damaged after the SBU detonated underwater explosives equivalent to 1,100 kg’s of TNT.
State of emergency

According to the press release, no civilians was hurt in teh explosion, wich occurdered at 4.44 Tuesday morning.

The first explosive

The special operation alegedely took months of planning, and according to the press release, the detonated explosives was the first device, hinting more are either already placed or being planned.
Continuing the tradition

The head of the SBU, Lieutenant General Vasyl Malyuk, personally supervised the operation and coordinated its planning, said:
“Previously, we hit the Crimean Bridge twice in 2022 and 2023. So today we continued this tradition under water. No illegal Russian facilities have a place on the territory of our state.”
Days after historic attack

The detonation happened just days after Ukraine conducted a historic operation deep in Russian territory, taking out at least 13 Russian long-range bombers.
Status symbol of Putin

The construction of the Crimean Bridge started in January of 2015, the year after Russia annexed the peninsula.
It cost US $3.7 billion and is regarded a huge status symbol for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
