The latest missile attack launched from Russian territory targeted the Krasnopil community in the Sumy region of Ukraine, resulting in the deaths of two people and injuries to three others.

The regional military administration confirmed the incident via Telegram on May 29.

"Today, May 29, a missile attack was launched from the territory of the Russian Federation targeting the Krasnopil community. As a result of the enemy attack, two people were killed and three others were injured," the message stated.

The attack also caused damage to the local cultural center and administrative buildings.

All necessary emergency services are currently on site, and efforts to assess the full impact of the attack are ongoing, according to the regional military administration.

Earlier on May 29, local media reported that Ukrainian air defenses had successfully intercepted and destroyed a Russian missile in the sky over Sumy Oblast.
