Joe Biden gave Trump a new nickname in a recent public appearance.

In a recent public appearance, President Joe Biden didn't hold back when discussing his predecessor's job performance. Biden introduced a new nickname for Donald Trump, dubbing him "Donald Hoover Trump," (You can watch the episode in the video at the bottom of this article) drawing parallels between Trump and President Herbert Hoover, who presided over the early years of the Great Depression.

The context behind the nickname

The nickname was unveiled during Biden's speech at a community college in Maryland, where he was promoting his economic policies.

Biden pointed out that Trump was one of only two presidents to leave office with fewer jobs than when they started. The other was Herbert Hoover.

According to Biden, Trump lost 2 million jobs during his tenure, a figure supported by Labor Department statistics.

This isn't the first time Biden has used a nickname for Trump. In 2019, he referred to Trump as "Clown." Trump, in return, has often used terms like "Sleepy Joe" and "Crooked Joe" to describe Biden.

With the possibility of a 2024 rematch between the two, the name-calling is unlikely to subside anytime soon.
