Ukrainian newspaper, European Pravda, quotes British intelligence reports which states that Russia has initiated the deployment of the newly reformed 104th Army Airborne Assault Division in the occupied Kherson region of Ukraine.

This deployment marks the first operational use of this division since its recent re-establishment.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced the revival of the 104th Division in August 2023.

Previously downsized to a brigade since 1998, the division now likely includes the 337th Regiment and the 52nd Artillery Brigade.

British intelligence highlights concerns about the proficiency of this unit, pointing out that the training level of the division's soldiers appears to be substandard, especially for a force typically regarded as 'elite.'

Colonel-General Mikhail Teplinsky, commander of the Russian airborne forces, has been overseeing the Dnepr group of troops since October and is expected to monitor the division's performance closely.

This development comes as British intelligence noted the heavy losses Russia sustained during a minor advance near Avdiivka.

Furthermore, there's an increasing concern as the Russian military is reported to be using 500-kilogram cluster bombs more frequently in Ukraine, raising alarms over the escalating intensity and potential humanitarian impact of the conflict.
