Once close allies, Elon Musk and Donald Trump have found themselves in a heated feud

Elon Musk has taken to his own platform, X, to offer a rare public apology after days of bitter exchanges with former ally President Donald Trump.

In a post published during the early morning hours in the U.S., Musk acknowledged that he had crossed a line.

“I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far,” Musk wrote.

The tension between Musk and Trump comes as a surprising turn in what was once a close political relationship.

Musk, who had previously donated millions to Trump’s campaign and served as head of the newly established Department of Government Efficiency, quickly became one of Trump’s trusted advisers, helping shape efforts to reduce federal spending.

But the relationship soured dramatically after disagreements over the U.S. spending bill.

Musk was subsequently removed from Trump’s inner circle, setting off a chain of mutual accusations that spilled into the public eye.

Trump Fires Back

President Trump did not hold back in his response to Musk’s recent criticisms.

Referring to the billionaire as “a man who has lost his mind,” Trump dismissed any hope for reconciliation and warned of “serious consequences” should Musk choose to support Democratic candidates in the upcoming elections.

“The poor man has a problem,” Trump added, painting Musk as unstable and suggesting his involvement in future political financing could directly threaten Trump’s tax and spending agenda.

Musk, in turn, accused Trump of concealing files related to Jeffrey Epstein, implying that the documents contain damaging information about the president.

‘They’re Both Stressed,’ Says Errol Musk

Weighing in on the dispute, Elon Musk’s father, Errol Musk, offered a more measured take during an interview with Russian media in Moscow, according to EFE via Agerpres.

Describing both men as “stressed” and “tired,” Errol Musk suggested that the conflict was temporary and largely fueled by exhaustion.

“They’ve been very stressed for five months — you know — leave them alone,” he told Digi24. “Elon made a mistake, I think. But he’s tired, he’s stressed.”

Errol also predicted a Trump victory in the upcoming election, calling him “the president, he was elected president.”
