Britain and Norway will lead a new coalition that will support Ukraine at sea.

This was reported by the UK Ministry of Defence.

"The United Kingdom, together with Norway, will head a new maritime capabilities coalition. It will supply ships and vehicles to strengthen Ukraine's ability to operate at sea," says the website of the British defense department.

Previously, the United Kingdom decided to send two mine ships to Ukraine.

According to the country's Ministry of Defence, the vessels are needed to strengthen the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Black Sea.

Most likely, the ships are being sent to protect the Ukrainian grain corridor, which became operational after Russia withdrew from the grain deal.

The Russian side has repeatedly stated that it will return to the Black Sea initiative only after the fulfillment of Moscow's conditions by other states. And the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, noted that the deal will not be renewed until sanctions against Russia are lifte.
