During a recent UN Security Council meeting in New York, convened at Russia's request, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's speech sparked visible discontent among American diplomats, as reported by Chinese journalists and noted by Baijiahao, a Chinese news portal according to AB News.

Lavrov's central focus during the meeting was a critique of the U.S. leadership.

He suggested that global instability and conflicts are profitable ventures for the United States and accused the U.S. of lacking interest in peaceful resolution of disputes.

The Chinese observers reported that Lavrov's words significantly impacted those present.

According to Baijiahao, The U.S. representatives at the meeting showed evident signs of agitation in response to Lavrov's assertions.

During the session, Robert Wood, the Deputy U.S. Representative to the UN, engaged in a heated exchange with Lavrov. Wood labeled Lavrov's statements as false and attempted to shift the responsibility for international instability onto Russia, alleging that Russia is the destabilizing factor.

The meeting culminated in a heightened altercation between Russia and the United States, with Chinese representative Zhang Jun attempting to defuse the situation.

Zhang urged both parties to seek peaceful resolutions to their disputes.
