In the industrial city of Avdiivka in Eastern Ukraine, Ukrainian forces are putting up a determined resistance against a sudden Russian offensive.

According to n-tv.de the Ukrainian General Staff, 13 Russian attacks near Avdiivka were repelled, along with an additional 10 attacks near the village of Stepowe to the north. Vitaliy Barabash, the military administration chief of Avdiivka, described the Russian attacks as the most intense since the invasion began in February 2022.

Reports indicate that around 60 tanks were deployed on Tuesday. Currently, Russian infantry units are attacking with air support but without tank support, Barabash told Donbass Realiji radio station. More than 23 rockets were fired at the city on Wednesday alone. Russian sources reported territorial gains north of Avdiivka.

The information has not been independently verified and should be treated with caution. In war, it can be advantageous for conflicting parties to deliberately spread false information to strengthen their own position or weaken the enemy's.

Ukrainian forces are not only holding their ground but also successfully repelling multiple Russian attacks. The intensity of the conflict has escalated, with both sides employing heavy artillery and tanks.

The use of 60 tanks in the recent offensive indicates a significant escalation by Russian forces. However, despite the heavy artillery and tank support, Russian infantry units are currently attacking without the support of tanks.

It's crucial to note that the information comes from sources that have not been independently verified. In the fog of war, misinformation can be strategically deployed by either side to gain an advantage.
